The article presents data from a study conducted at the Faculty of communications , media and design of the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (Moscow) in 2018, the purpose of which was to compile a statistical picture of foreign Russian-language radio stations broadcasting in the world. 448 such radio stations were found in 57 countries of the world, in particular, 330 stations on the territory of the former USSR. The largest number was recorded in Kazakhstan (59), Belarus (48) and Ukraine (28). The main part of Russian- language broadcast radio stations are local state and commercial stations. In addition, there are radio stations of Russian origin on the one hand, and those from third countries on the other. Information confrontation between Russian state radio stations and Russian-language broadcast radio stations of a propaganda nature from third countries was recorded. The balance between the two reflects the foreign policy position of a particular post-Soviet country in relation to Russia.
