The second volume of the collective monograph "Urban Texts and Practices" is devoted to "newslore" - forms of folkloric reaction to events that received coverage in the media. On material of various events - from military conflicts of the 1930s. till the introduction of a new form of employees of the "Post of Russia" - the authors show how folkloric mechanisms and models, including traditional and even archaic, are involved in the formation of "newslore".
