Гуманитарная наука в цифровую эпоху (случай британской устной истории)
The digital age has radically changed the landscape of the humanities, introducing new methodologies, tools, and challenges. This has also been reflected in the field of oral history. This transformation has been particularly evident in the UK, where long-standing oral history archives and recent digitization projects have come together to redefine how scholars collect, preserve, and interpret personal testimonies. Technological advances — from digital editing and online catalogs to artificial intelligence and Linked Open Data — have expanded both the accessibility and analytical potential of oral history collections, allowing researchers and the public to interact with historical voices. However, the shift to digital technologies raises important questions: Is oral history reduced to interview recordings alone? How can we preserve the full context of narratives? And what happens to our understanding of people’s experiences when their stories are transformed into structured and automated files?
