This paper addresses the issue perceiving the national Vietnamese costume as a tool of cultural representation in the context of official state events held in Vietnam and abroad. The study focuses on specific cases of protocol visits, meetings, forums, and beauty contests, where the ao dai and other types and elements of national clothing are worn. The study concludes that despite active public debate, Vietnam has not yet developed regulations for national clothing at official events. The solutions used are based on the country’s vestimentary traditions and at the same time reflect the individual views of the organizers and participants.

Unlike many other Turkic languages, Balkar normally demonstrates obligatory subject-verb
number agreement in finite clauses with 3rd person subjects: when a subject is plural-marked,
so is the verb. However, there are cases when the subject is not overtly plural-marked, but the
verb can be. We argue for an account where such facts are not reduced to any form ...

The article examines Old Russian anthroponyms with the suffix -ec-, originally conveying the meaning ‘less than X’. A diachronic corpus study of
11th–17th-century texts reveals that while this suffix lacked inherent pejorative
connotations in Old Russian sources, contextual (adherent) pejoration is clearly
observable. For pre-15th-century chronicles, two primary usage patterns are
identified—1) characters with explicit negative evaluation, and 2) ...
