Медиа-репрезентация протестных настроений в зеркале социологии

The article provides a sociological understanding of the media representation strategies of protest moods on the federal agenda. The subject of consideration were anti-corruption rallies, which took place on March 26, 2017 in 82 cities of the country and gathered more than 92 thousand people. A set of methods was used: content analysis; discourse analysis; methods of mathematical statistics; secondary analysis of sociological research. The base of the research was the materials of Internet portals, the news programs of federal TV channels, as well as the “posts” of social networks users. According to the results of the study, only one Internet portal (“Meduza.io”) and one television channel (“Dozhd’”) followed a strategy of detailed coverage of rallies against corruption. The conclusion is made, that the existing media picture will strengthen the degree of the audience distrust to the “traditional” media, strengthen the representatives positions of civil journalism – bloggers and ordinary users of social networks, – which reflect the “picture of the day”, devoid of engagement. As a result, they can potentially develop a high “credit of trust” from the audience.
