История Караногая в исследовательских практиках Филиппа Капельгородского
The article is devoted to the analysis of the work of the last bailiff of the Karanogai people, Philip Iosifovich Kapelgorodsky, "Karanogai, the land of nomads and patriarchal life." The work reveals the circumstances of the creation of this manuscript, which the author completed before the Russian Revolution. Using literature data and archival sources from regional and federal archives and museums, the main stages of the biography of F.I. Kapelgorodsky are revealed. For the first time, the memoirs of Philip Iosifovich's brother Alexei from the funds of the Armavir Museum of Local History are introduced into scientific circulation. The sources on which the author builds his narrative are considered – this is accessible Russian literature, local Nogai chronicles, as well as documents from the bailiff's archive, most of which have not survived to this day. The authors dwell in detail on the disclosure of individual plots from the history of the Karanogai people and their interpretation by F.I. Kapelgorodsky. It is emphasized that the final version of the work "Karanogay, the country of nomads and patriarchal life" was created in connection with the administrative-territorial transformations in the North Caucasus and the inclusion of the Nogais in the Dagestan ASSR. The authors come to the conclusion that despite the progressive views of F.I. Kapelgorodsky, he remained a man of his time
