The monograph is based on papers presented at the conference organized by Scientific Research Institute of Theory and History of Architecture and Urban Planning and held in the Central House of Architect in Moscow in September 15–16, 2021. The conference, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Boris Mikhailovich Iofan, thematically went beyond the discussion of the creative career and legacy of a particular architect. The figure of a former emigrant who received a European education, and upon his return took a special, unique place in the architectural life of the USSR, is included in many contexts and allows us to touch on a number of issues related to the study of not only the era of the Stalinist architecture, but also the global history of architecture and art of the second quarter of the XX century.
