The publication analyzes the state and dynamics of the Russian society in 2020-2022 based on the results of sociological monitoring. It reveals the judgments and assessments of Russians, their socio-psychological states associated with key domestic and international events and processes of this period. Along with this, the general and special in the changes in the socio-economic situation of different population groups under the anti-Russian sanctions are investigated. Special attention is paid to the postpandemic consequences of COVID-19 and their impact on mass consciousness and behavioral practices, the state of trust in society as a factor of consolidation / deconsolidation of the spiritual atmosphere of society, as well as the analysis of the meaning and life attitudes of our fellow citizens in the context of their personal interests and the interests of the country as a whole. The subject of special analysis is the attitude of Russians to the West and their perceptions of friends and enemies of the Russian Federation. The article concludes with a sociological characterization of the images of Russia of the future existing in the mass consciousness.
