Образ России будущего в массовом сознании россиян
The subject of the study is the social ideals of Russians and their ideas about the prospects of the country's development and ways of its development. Based on the results of all-Russian sociological surveys, including those conducted recently (2021-2022), the article analyses the consolidated requests of Russians for various options for the future, reveals their conceptual foundations and identifies their collective carriers. Comparing the results of sociological studies of different years, the authors note the stability of the Russian population's perceptions of the country's future development paths. In the first place among the qualities that Russia of the future should possess, the majority of Russians name social justice, overcoming corruption, mitigating social inequalities, transition to an innovative economy, and strengthening the country's international position. At the same time, as shown in the text of the chapter, in their understanding of national goals and in their demands for the future, Russians rely on their collective historical experience, the quintessence of which is the conviction of the majority of citizens that "Russia should live by its own wits", without looking back to imported models and patterns, including Western ones. Accordingly, liberal values in the Western sense attract only a minority of citizens. In this regard, the article asks how differences in perceptions of the proper and desirable in relation to the future of Russia correlate with basic social differences (by gender, age, education, place of residence, etc.). Comparing the results of surveys in spring 2021 and spring 2022, the authors show that, despite the fact that the military special operation in Ukraine has significantly increased the level of anxiety in Russian society, its value attitudes and requests for the future are in line with the trends that can be traced in sociological surveys over the past two decades.
