The article is devoted to changes in the party system in Germany. The system that existed in the FRG for more than half a century, with the dominance of two political forces, gradually evolved into a 1.5-party (one and a half-party) system. In Germany, a pluralization of the party spectrum is taking place. At the same time, all major German political parties are in search of a new dynamic. The intra-party struggle and factionalism of parties are a consequence of the ongoing process of their adaptation to new conditions.
