This chapter, which is part of the section on Spanish official and public diplomacy, examines the scientific cooperation between Spain and Russia as the basis of scientific diplomacy. Using the example of cooperation in the field of the humanities and social sciences, the chapter shows that scientific cooperation can influence not only the development of science itself, but also the system of international relations and political discourse, traces the evolution and considers the prospects for scientific contacts between the two countries.
