Agustín de Betancourt en Rusia: encuentros y destinos

The "Spanish" period of the life of Spanish engineer Agustin de Betancourt is known in some detail. Researchers of the history of science began to study his "Russian" biography in the 1960s, but only the latest scientific studies by Russian scholars reveal new facets of his life in Russia. Betancourt's "material" legacy can be found in different cities of the country, mostly in Saint Petersburg. The article deals with the material heritage that he left and the peculiarities of his carrier in the capital of Russia´s, including the people with whom life brought him together and on whom his destiny and his work in Russia depended.
