The sector of intellectual business services is one of key elements of knowledge economy and through the creation, accumulation and dissemination of knowledge contributes to a more dynamic and innovative development not only itself, but also the external environment. The article is devoted to the problems of spatial distribution of the sector of intellectual business services in Russia. The study is founded on the unique empirical base received from the results of mass surveys of Russian producers and consumers of intellectual business services. Collected data have formed quantitative characteristics of spatial distribution of intellectual business services. Comparative analysis of ingoing (demand) and outgoing (supply) fl ows of intellectual business services in the federal districts has allowed to classify the latter according to the level of involvement in the process of these services and to map the intensity of inter-regional supply and demand of federal districts. It is found that companies offering intellectual business services in Russia are highly concentrated in large cities. The demand for intellectual business services is more distributed, but also not spatially neutral. The article may be of interest to researchers dealing with spatial distribution of elements of the innovation economy in Russia. It may be useful for regional authorities to assess the territorial development potential.

The basis of the study is uniquely empirical, obtained through a series of largescale surveys among Russian pro ducers and consumers of KIBS. The collected data provide quantitative evidence for the spatial dimension of the sector. Comparative analysis of the production and consumption of KIBS in Russia’s federal districts makes it possible to classify the latter in terms of the exchange of related services and mapping of the intensity of their interregional supply and demand across federal districts. It is established that companies offering KIBS in Russia are largely concentrated in big cities. The demand for KIBS is more distributed, but not spa tially neutral. This paper may be of interest to researchers focusing on the spatial distribution of elements of the innovationbased economy in Russia. It is also relevant for regional authorities, because it can help them assess the development capacity of their regions.

Knowledge intensive business services (KIBS) are characterized by high concentration in large urban areas due to the presence of more developed infrastructure, higher human capital development, proximity to the large customer, etc. However, companies in the KIBS sector have potential for development (new knowledge, experience) in collaboration with agents located in other regions. This paper is focused on the spatial aspects of the knowledge intensive business services sector in Russia. The study is based on a unique empirical data, based on mass surveys of Russian producers and consumers of KIBS. Comparative analysis of the incoming flows (demand) and outgoing flows (supply) of knowledge intensive business services in Russian regions helps us to classify federal districts by their involvement in the process of KIBS exchange, and to map the intensity of these flows.
The paper examines trends of internal migration in Russia in the last two decades. Particular attention is paid to the areas of migration and its regional features.
Smoking is a problem, bringing signifi cant social and economic costs to Russiansociety. However, ratifi cation of the World health organization Framework conventionon tobacco control makes it possible to improve Russian legislation accordingto the international standards. So, I describe some measures that should be taken bythe Russian authorities in the nearest future, and I examine their effi ciency. By studyingthe international evidence I analyze the impact of the smoke-free areas, advertisementand sponsorship bans, tax increases, etc. on the prevalence of smoking, cigaretteconsumption and some other indicators. I also investigate the obstacles confrontingthe Russian authorities when they introduce new policy measures and the public attitudetowards these measures. I conclude that there is a number of easy-to-implementanti-smoking activities that need no fi nancial resources but only a political will.
One of the most important indicators of company's success is the increase of its value. The article investigates traditional methods of company's value assessment and the evidence that the application of these methods is incorrect in the new stage of economy. So it is necessary to create a new method of valuation based on the new main sources of company's success that is its intellectual capital.

At present many industries reveal tendency for setting up of vertically integrated companies (VIC) the structure of which unites all technological processes. This tendency proved its efficiency in oil industry where coordination of all successive stages of technological process, namely, oil prospecting and production -oil transportation - oil processing - oil chemistry - oil products and oil chemicals marketing, is necessary. The article considers specific features of introduction of "personnel management" module at enterprises of oil and gas industry.
