Социальный пессимизм как барьер модернизации: самочувствие населения Сибири и России
Social pessimism of population, caused by the process of transformation of post-Soviet society, is considered as one of the barriers to modernization. This socio-cultural phenomenon is studied on the basis of comparative analysis of sociological surveys in the regions of Siberian Federal District, compared with the situation in Russia. It is shown that social pessimism is higher among male population, respondents with lower levels of subjective well-being and social self-identification with a lower social class. It is revealed that educational level, religiosity and assessment of the quality of life in the region of residence have no significant effect on the degree of respondents` confidence in their future.
