Две семьи великого князя Константина Николаевича в формировании его ближайшего окружения
The article examines the influence of the long relationship between Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich (1827-1892) and the ballerina Anna VasilievnaKuznetsova (1844-1922) on the transformation of the inner circle of the emperor’s brother and a major statesman. Basing on a wide range of archival sources from the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GA RF), the Russian State Archive of the Navy (RGA VMF), the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (RGALI), the Russian State Historical Archive (RGIA), the Manuscript Department of the Russian National Library (OR RNB), we aim to analyze the reconstruction of communications and the formation of a special private space as a new family was formed in the 1860s-1870s. Due to adultery we concern the history of the legal marriage of Konstantin Nikolaevich with the Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna (1830-1911) and more particularly the gender roles in this marital union. The question is raised about A.V. Kuznetsova’s activity outside the sphere of private life. The article contains material on the history of everyday life, family history and private life, gender roles. Less known aspects of the biography of the Grand Duke are presented in the context of serious changes in the way of life of the Romanov dynasty in the post-reform period.
