This collection of articles deals with the interaction between art criticism,
philosophy of culture and geography in the interdisciplinary approach in
the study of the geography of art. The special feature of this collection is the
scientifi c understanding of the spatial and geographical patterns of creation and
existence of literary texts, paintings, travelogues and cartographic works from
the Middle Ages to the present.The topics under discussion include the artistic
perception of the landscape, the place of art in shaping the cultural landscape and
image of a territory, the geobiography of creators of art and the mythologization
of geobiography using art, the role of geographical factors in the development of
art and the concepts of space in works of art.
