Жизнь после колледжа: образовательно-карьерные маршруты молодежи на материале лонгитюдного исследования
The study examines patterns in the ten-year educational and career pathways of participants in the cohort panel study “Trajectories in Education and Career” (TrEC) who have received secondary vocational education. The identification of trajectories was carried out using sequence analysis. The five trajectories of graduates are defined by differentiating features: duration of secondary education, transition to university, combination of study and work, duration of work experience, and length of stay in precarious positions. The relationship between trajectories and socio-demographic characteristics of participants (cultural capital, educational aspirations, family status, gender) and academic performance (TIMSS numeracy skills) was examined. The labor market position of graduates (sector and type of employment, earnings, qualification level) is further examined employing contextual factors (vacancy to unemployment ratio, regional GDP per capita, regional higher education market). The data from the panel study “Trajectories in Education and Career” were used. The research was carried out with the support of the Program of Fundamental Research at HSE. The article will be of interest to those who develop and implement policies in the field of secondary vocational education and youth employment, as well as to a wide range of readers: managers and specialists of educational organizations, researchers of vocational and higher education, the labor market, and the trajectories of youth.
