The future in an existential context is, on the one hand, a space of possibilities as different life options (Leontiev, 2022), and on the other hand, the possibilities chosen, reflected in personal goals and plans. A person structures various possibilities, determining their significance for himself, accepts them or rejects them, determining his actions and future life through the approval of goals. According to E. Fromm (2004), with the help of decision-making, a person produces "liberation", the establishment of "freedom for". A. Langle (2008) describes the decision as a manifestation of the will that binds, like a bridge, the real world and the ideal world. D.A. Leontiev especially emphasizes the function of self-determination for the processes of choice and decision-making (Leontiev, 2014).
