"Теневой" банкинг в Китае
Tight government control over the banking system of China leads to a shortage of high-quality financial products for private entrepreneurs and households. The demand for them is met by shadow banking structures. Such activities are carried out by state-owned banks themselves, as well as various categories of institutional investors participating in financial markets. Chinese and English-speaking economists are actively discussing the problems of shadow banking. They usually state that the expansion of shadow lending helps to support economic growth in China, especially during periods of tightening monetary policy. At the same time, it increases systemic risks in the financial sector and contributes to a general decrease in the effectiveness of monetary macro-regulation.
