Вовлечение детей в военные конфликты: причины и проблемы правового регулирования на современном этапе

According to UNESCO, a huge number of children around the world are currently involved in armed conflicts. Some of them, believing that they are doing the right thing, participate in hostilities voluntarily. Others, unfortunately, find themselves involved in military conflicts against their will: children are stolen, intimidated and forced to take part in hostilities. This problem is certainly relevant, and the fact that the age of children involved in active phases of hostilities is decreasing makes the problem even more serious. Thus, over the past few decades, the number of children aged 8 to 14 years involved in international and local conflicts has increased significantly. Despite the existence of a regulatory framework regulating this area, this does not exclude the possibility of the formation of groups of child soldiers on the territory of a number of states. Unfortunately, regulation of this situation in third world countries cannot be effectively carried out at the state level due to political instability in the country as a whole, as well as the low economic and social level of development of states.
