Cognitive warfare becomes one of the most important element of the current debates on war and peace in the globalizing society. What is cognition and how it could be transform into one of the ways of war? Is it really a principally new type of war, or just a variety of a hybrid war, as combined informational, economic and political domains with conventional tools of military activities? And how we can evaluate conducting weaponization of brain sciences in terms of its potential impact on economy, society, political regimes legitimacy in process of the global competition over resources, power and dominance? Th e author looks forward to answer these questions by careful analysis of the real sense of the cognitive warfare concept, the complex of brain-manipulation technologies, and their practical role in current and future military confl icts.
