Многоликий феномен гендерной дискриминации
. To date, the problem of gender discrimination is widely highlighted in the Russian and foreign studies, the issue of gender inequality has also been repeatedly raised by public organizations and the media. At the same time, researchers have analyzed the gender gap, relying on the empirical assessments of the certain aspects of discrimination, such as differences in the career prospects of both men and women or their gap income. To be able to cover the state of gender inequality in the contemporary societies as fully as possible, the authors of the paper conduct a literature review, which, on the one hand, allows to grasp a variety of gender issues and aspects of the phenomenon, and on the other hand, illuminates the most popular methodological solutions for assessing gender inequality. Based on the results of Russian and international studies, we have identified three most popular dimensions of gender inequality: income, professional, subjective dimensions. Each of them reflects a separate sphere of gender discrimination; in addition, we briefly highlighted the methodology of constructing indices used in the international assessments of gender inequality. Overall, the paper demonstrates the significance of different views on the phenomenon of gender discrimination and contributes to comprehension of its complicated nature
