The IE RAS monograph presents an interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary crisis phenomena in Europe and the world. The authors address the problems of the transformation of modern international relations, the confrontation of key international players, the impact of defragmentation processes on the macropolitical and socio-economic situation. The political consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, EU intraregional trade, the European Green Deal and the climate agenda have been studied. The problems of social stratification of European societies and their conflict potential are considered. The crisis situation in the sphere of European security, new approaches and national cybersecurity strategies, integration prospects of the Union State of Russia and Belarus and the Eurasian Economic Union are studied. The study demonstrates that centrifugal processes at the global level, colliding with centripetal processes at the regional level, form a large set of configurations of interstate interactions based on various combinations of pragmatism and ideological approaches.
