Currently Russian governmental bodies effort to form a unified state policy aimed at identifying and support gifted students. In this regard, study the experience of foreign countries to work with gifted children becomes extremely important. In most countries there is not no consensus emerged on the need to support talented students. Some countries consider this policy as priority, others see a threat to the principle of equal access to education and consider the identification of gifted children as discrimination in relation to other students. This article presents an analysis of measures to identify and support gifted children in the USA, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Finland, Norway, Hungary and Poland.
