The article discusses some findings of the study of the status of the Russian language in the educational systems of foreign countries, carried by the Research University Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg, in 2023. It presents the opinions of experts in the field of teaching and promoting the Russian language, as well as Russian language teachers from educational organizations of foreign countries about the current problems of Russian language teaching in their countries and directions of their solution.
