Практики выражения утраты и запроса поддержки в российских социальных сетях (2024-2025 гг.)
Users of social networks in Russia publicly express personal loss in digital communication: they talk about the death of loved ones, heavy losses and difficult life situations. This is especially noticeable in 2024-2025, against the backdrop of the events of the special military operation (SMO) and the consequences of the pandemic, when the topic of death and loss affected a wide range of families. Social networks have become a space where personal grief becomes visible to society, acquiring new forms and meanings. At the same time, they provide mourners with new tools - from online memorials to support groups, as well as pose new challenges for users related to the publicity of feelings. The relevance of studying the expression of loss in social networks is due to several factors. First, in modern Russia, significant social upheavals are taking place, leading to an increase in the number of people experiencing grief (combat losses, pandemic deaths, etc.). Secondly, the digital environment is changing the cultural norms of grief: what used to remain private (mourning at home, in the cemetery, saying goodbye in church and with loved ones) is now partially transferred to the public online space. The purpose of this article is to analyze how users of Russian social networks express loss, grief and related difficult experiences in 2024–2025.
