Today the centre of political and economic influence is shifting to the East. The article deals with current issues of economic cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as well as the basic problems of its international legal regulation. For the first time in the research a new empirical material involved. It’s studied in the framework of an integrated multidisciplinary approach. The article attempts to systemic-functional analysis and classification of singularities of the organization. Also the main problems and prospects of further development of the SCO revealed.
