Принципы разграничения и особенности функционирования интертекстуальных маркеров в детективных рассказах (на материале рассказов Э.К. Бентли и Г.К. Честертона)

The paper deals with the phenomenon of intertextuality, which is studied on the material of 7 detective stories by E. K. Bentley and G. K. Chesterton. The research focuses on the interaction of biblical allusions and biblical precedent expressions and names, and their decoding in the detective discourse. The problem resides in the differentiation of the two classes of intertextual markers, as precedent expressions and names also have allusive nature. In the present paper we have attempted to develop a set of the criteria with which it becomes possible to differentiate both classes of intertextual markers: 1) coverage scope of the plane of content and the plane of expression; 2) difficulty in decoding; 3) the nature of interaction with the biblical plot in the detective discourse (either modification or enhancing the biblical plot); 4) mechanisms of reference. In the detective stories under analysis, we have found biblical allusions that are difficult to decode, they cover both the plane of content and the plane of expression (8 instances). We have identified modified biblical precedent expressions (4 examples) as well as one biblical precedent name. All identified markers, revealed either explicitly or implicitly, point to a greater or lesser extent to the connection of the Bible with the detective text. Based on the results of the analysis of the stories we can assume that, on the one hand, biblical allusions and biblical precedent expressions and names can enhance the connection with the Biblical plot through the covering of the plane of content. On the other hand, they modify the plot, making emphasis on the specific details in the text of the detective by revealing themselves in the plane of expression.
