Ученые и академический класс будущего: случай наукограда Дубны
The author focuses on the "academic class," which includes scientists, engineers, and highly qualified specialists, and the conditions necessary for their productive work and comfortable life. The study is based on in-depth interviews with female scientists, female administrative staff of JINR, and spouses of scientists, as well as an analysis of open data. The author analyzes the appeal of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) as a workplace, highlighting its international status, unique infrastructure, and the stability of long-term careers. The book examines the challenges facing "naukograds" (science cities) today: limitations on academic mobility, the risk of scientific provincialism, the outflow of young talent from fundamental science to the IT sector, and issues related to the portrayal of scientists in popular culture. Particular attention is paid to the creation of a comfortable urban environment, the role of social and cultural infrastructure, and the importance of addressing the needs of scientists' families. The potential of scientific tourism and the development of creative industries in Dubna are also discussed.
