Тревожный фон жилого фонда: влияние реновации на освоение общественных пространств горожанами в Москве
The study aims to assess the impact of the Moscow renovation program, launched by the Moscow Government on August 1, 2017, on residents' social well—being, their perception of the area, and practices of interaction with the urban environment. The subject of the study is the transformation of public spaces and social practices in areas affected by renovation.
The research methodology is based on qualitative methods: semi—structured interviews with residents (30 interviews), standardized observation, and mental mapping (60 maps) in three Moscow districts — Zyuzino, Prospekt Vernadskogo, and Vostochnoye Izmaylovo. Additionally, GIS analysis was used for data visualization.
Key research results include: identifying the «renovation background» as a complex social phenomenon characterized as a complex social phenomenon characterized by feelings of anxiety and uncertainty among residents; discovering urban environment fragmentation through the practice of new residential complexes fencing; identifying four groups of citizens with different attitudes towards renovation — «ambassadors», «careful traditionalists», «cautious observers», and «dissatisfied critics». The study showed that renovation significantly affects social practices, transforms ideas about private and public spaces, and creates new urban life standards.
The main conclusion is the need to rethink urban development approaches, taking into account social practices and residents' needs to create a more coherent and inclusive urban environment.
