This chapter covers the public-law framework for environmental protection and natural resource management, providing an understanding of the principles and mechanisms for ensuring the right to a favorable environment. The content is presented in such a way that the reader gains a holistic understanding of the existing approach to the formation of legal regulation of relations in the field of environmental protection and natural resource use at various levels of government, as well as the role and importance of the public. Examining the public-law regulation of land relations, as well as the principles of urban planning and the development of populated areas, the author examines practical approaches to organizing the use of space to achieve the objectives of the socioeconomic development of the Russian Federation.
