The key objective of the study is to determine the features of representation of the Far Eastern territories in the media sphere. Attention to this region is explained by its territorial characteristics, resource base, economic indicators and investment potential, as well as a key geographical advantage — proximity to the AsiaPacific region. These features influence mass information processes, forming the image of the district among the Russian media audience. The source study base of the work is the leading Russian mass media: Arguments and Facts, Lenta.ru, Gazeta.ru. Research approaches consist in identifying priority areas of problem-thematic lines conducted by publications, structural features of media materials, genre-thematic and lexical-stylistic originality of media texts. Attention is drawn to the nature of the frames that form the external image of the macroregion within the country, the main types of media personalities on the scale of the Far East. It has been established that political, economic, social, cultural and sports topics stand out among the most covered events. It is noted that the Far East in the studied publications is presented as a space with investment, industrial, business and trade potential. An important place in the information policy of the publications is occupied by the topic of support for the special military operation by the leadership and residents of the region. The following exclusive thematic vectors of the publications have been established: 1) political topics (support for the SVO); 2) economic topics (mining, fishing, agriculture, tourism); 3) reports on events, incidents, memorable and festive dates. The analysis of media texts of federal media allowed us to identify positive and negative frames on the basis of which the external image of a macro-region is formed on a national scale, the main types of media personalities on the scale of the Far East, to trace the genre-thematic, structural and lexical-stylistic originality of media texts, to determine a number of factors that influence the media image of a region in federal media.
