This textbook is an analytical toolkit demonstrating a variety of approaches to analyzing qualitative data — interview materials, observations, photos, letters and online messages. The authors are practicing social researchers who share their experience of narrative analysis, thematic analysis, discourse analysis, grounded theory, qualitative content analysis and text-mining. Each chapter contains an explanation of key concepts, and shows examples and possible algorithms for working with data.
The book consists of three interrelated sections. The first section shows the specifics of qualitative analysis and the methodological landscape.
