The monograph presents the results of a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of research related to the assessment of the tourist potential of administrative-territorial units (ATUs) from 1882 to 2024. For the first time, scientific schools are identified, and the author's approach to predictive values and a methodology for the quantitative assessment of the tourist potential of ATUs are developed, addressing the problems of subjectivism and the assessment of the future through the present. A computer program, the "Tourist Potential Calculator," is proposed for automating calculations and generating recommendations for tourism policy. The methodology has been successfully tested on the case of Perm Krai. It is addressed to specialists in the field of tourism, researchers, educators, graduate students, undergraduate students, and civil servants.
