The national and cultural specific features in the use of Spanish have always been of big interest for the investigators both in Russia and in the rest of the world. In that one sense, the Russian school of Latin-American studies impels the investigations in a new slope: the dialectology intravariante of Spanish. This essay centers in some aspects that stem from the contacts between Spanish and English in territory of the United States, as well as in the influence of the indigenous languages in national variant of Spanish of Mexico.
Since the research process is assumed to be completed only when its results have been introduced to and acknowledged by the academia, scholars tend to get their studies and achievements published. Russian researchers make attempts to apply to international journals but get disappointed as not all articles prove to be accepted. The present article aims to analyse and summarise international journals’ tips and guidelines addressed to potential authors focusing on structural norms and citation and referencing conventions and. The conclusions made on the basis of the current analysis may be used by those who are planning to try hand at writing internationally and by university staff involved in teaching academic writing skills.
The article analyzes the genre of request letters to newspapers in the Soviet Union and in emigration. As the data show, the manner of realization of the illocutionary purpose and the choice of the topic discussed in the letter are determined by several factors, such as the socio-cultural context of the communication, the level of knowledge of the literary language and the social status of the author, as well as other factors. The pattern of description of the genre adopted in the article includes five parameters: 1) illocutionary purpose; 2) text structure; 3) topic; 4) properties of author and addressee; 5) linguistic properties. It is demonstrated that the language mechanisms used in request letters to newspapers differ in several respects from those occurring in requests in other spheres of communication. For instance, the imperative verb form, which is frequent in oral requests, occurs very rarely in request letters. At the same time, the genre under analysis is realized differently in the Soviet Union and in emigration. The paper is focused on the study of reaction of italian literature critics on the publication of the Boris Pasternak's novel "Doctor Jivago". The analysys of the book ""Doctor Jivago", Pasternak, 1958, Italy" (published in Russian language in "Reka vremen", 2012, in Moscow) is given. The papers of italian writers, critics and historians of literature, who reacted immediately upon the publication of the novel (A. Moravia, I. Calvino, F.Fortini, C. Cassola, C. Salinari ecc.) are studied and analised.
In the article the patterns of the realization of emotional utterances in dialogic and monologic speech are described. The author pays special attention to the characteristic features of the speech of a speaker feeling psychic tension and to the compositional-pragmatic peculiarities of dialogic and monologic text.
