Восприятие американских фильмов в СССР на примере одного письма к Дине Дурбин

This paper analyzes the letter written by Soviet citizen Piotr Rossolovskii to American film star Deanna Durbin in 1946, after watching the American movies she starred in. Juxtaposing the letter with autobiography and memoirs of Rossolovskii, as well as focusing on his viewership experience, this paper considers the reception of American movies in the USSR during the 1940s. Close attention is paid to what new connotations and roles that American films get after transferring into the Soviet culture.
