Образ монарха в рождественских обращениях Хуана Карлоса I и Филиппа VI
Since the restoration of the monarchy, Christmas messages are a traditional act of political communication in Spain. The article considers the ways to represent the image of the monarch in the Christmas messages of Juan Carlos I and Felipe VI from 1975 to 2018. With the help of lexical and syntactic means of linguistic expression (metaphors, repetitions, personification, parallelism, and parcellation), an attractive image of the king is consistently created, which acts as an intermediary between the government and society and works tirelessly for the good of the country. One of the main goals of the epistles is to strengthen the institution of the monarchy and the call to maintain the status quo. However, interest in the Christmas messages of the Spanish king is gradually declining, due to the inappropriate behavior of some representatives of the Royal house.
