In the article P. A. Sorokin’s ideas about interrelation of the nature of social and cultural phenomena in the context of his theory of symbolical are considered. Given analysis allows imagining a new view on possibility of reconstruction of Sorokin’s approach to study the processes of sociocultural integration, especially within a problem of understanding correlation of mechanisms of social integration at the microlevel of group interaction and mechanisms of maintenance of integration of empirical unity of sociocultural macrosystems. The question of use of the term «coherence» for identification symbolical (valuable – semantic) hierarchies of unity of ideological, behavioral and material components of sociocultural unities is raised
