Shifting Political Culture in Bangladesh, Linguistic Pride to Fundamentalism: a Historical Analysis

The political culture and political consciousness are interlinked phenomenon. In case of a post- colonial nation state like Bangladesh it becomes important to understand the shining tides of cultures and socialisation in the political realm to come to terms with the challenges faced by the state. The historical analysis of the advent of political culture in Bangladesh allows an in depth understanding of the political processes and people’s belief system. The valuable interaction between the theory of development of political thought and ideas shaping the formation of a political culture in Bangladesh and how it gets socialised into the psychologies of people is the mainstay of this article. Also it tries to analyse how the shift in political culture impacts a nation’s understanding of the self and impacts its journey in the due course of time
