Holistic and Transdisciplinary Approaches in Educational Practices of 21st Century
In the 21st century, some new soft skills are needed, namely self-organization, communication, cooperation, using complex instruments of labor, creativity, critical thinking. Pedagogy is the sphere of culture that is primarily focused on the future. Therefore, the high demand for creativity and innovation in modern society is becoming an imperative norm in educational practices. New trends in the educational policy include development of soft skills, teaching how to learn (lifelong learning), and formation of new literacy (civilian „literacy“, financial behavior skills /financial „literacy“/, basic skills of using legal norms /legal „literacy“/, environmental or ecological „literacy”, scientific, technological „literacy“, and „health literacy“). Achieving new literacy is impossible without ensuring transdisciplinary methods and content of education.
