Jugoslovenski dobrovoljci u odbrani Španske republike: tematski zbornik radova
The collection contains works that contribute to existing analyzes of the causes, course and consequences of the war in Spain. The peculiarity of the approach is reflected in the choice of Yugoslavs as a paradigmatic group of participants in the war. The anthology complements the previous histories of the war through new research on the places and the role that the Yugoslavs played in the defense of the Spanish Republic, and in this way it simultaneously provides new insights into the complex history of the war that was fought in Spain in 1936–1939, but also into certain episodes of the history of Yugoslavia from the mid-20th century. The main goal of the authors was to encourage further work on completing the list of Yugoslavs who fought for the Spanish Republic through consideration of political and military situations and biographies of lesser-known or completely unknown participants in the war, as well as through analyzes of memory cultures.
