The article provides a comparative analysis of Russian and English-speaking scientific research papers in the sports industry, especially in the field of sports management and sports economics. The author examined the dynamics of publication activity in the field of physical education and sports and the main directions of publication activity of Russian and foreign scientists in the context of specialized scientific journals with a sports focus. The author concludes that there is a significant lag in publications in the field of sports, as well as the inconsistency of the currently formed domestic market of specialized sports scientific publications with the requirements of the current stage of development of the industry.
