Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Social Integration: At the Crossroads of Knowledge and Values
The International Laboratory for Social Integration Research (ILSIR) at HSE University studies the challenges faced by vulnerable groups and explores ways to help them participate fully in everyday life. To develop effective solutions, the laboratory’s researchers combine cutting-edge methods with practical fieldwork. In this interview with the HSE News Service, Laboratory Head Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova discusses the laboratory’s work.

Осознанное обучение: принципы и возможности применения в высшем образовании

Психологическая наука и образование. 2024. Т. 29. № 4. С. 16–30.
Bordunos A., Miletich M., Volkova N.

The article provides an overview of the principles of mindful learning in the context
of higher education. Mindful learning is an approach in which students and teachers
tune their attention to increasing value and awareness of what is happening in the
surrounding context, to their experience and reflection about.
The relevance of the research is related to the interest in the effects associated with
mindful learning: positive impact on psychological well-being, development of
socio-emotional skills, as well as increasing intrinsic motivation, improving
attentiveness and concentration of students. The article reviews research indicating
the effectiveness of this approach for both learning outcomes and the psychological
well-being of students and teachers in the educational process.
The theoretical contribution of this research lies in highlighting the research agenda
in the field of mindful learning: defining concepts of mindful learning and mindful
teaching, identifying the main principles of mindful learning. These results provide a
basis for further research of mindful learning in higher education.
The practical contribution of the research lies in presenting a methodological basis
for introducing mindful learning into university disciplines. The research may be of
interest not only to teachers and methodologists but also to students and their parents
due to the increased interest in the effects of mindful learning.

The communist morality created in the USSR to form a “new man” was based on a code of moral values that replaced traditional religious ideas with the ideological postulates of a one-party dictator ship. Имплицитное обучение аргументации на занятиях по английскому языку с опорой на таксономию Блума
Voronina Y., Kuryan M., Педагогика и психология образования 2026 № 2 С. 84–98
Teaching argumentation in foreign language classes is a promising approach, as it enhances students' critical thinking and improves the quality of their academic work. Despite the rather widespread use of explicit methods for developing argumentation skills, the implicit approach remains underexplored. This paper proposes a system for organizing implicit argumentation instruction in English based on ...

Hypergraphs from multivariate connectivity: caCOH-based EEG/MEG representation
Vlasenko D., Saranskaia I., Zakharov D., European Physical Journal: Special Topics 2026 P. 1–16
Hypergraphs provide a natural framework for representing neurophysiological interactions distributed across sets of sensors. A key methodological question is how hyperedges should be defined from frequency-resolved electroencephalography/magnetoencephalography (EEG/MEG) data. We demonstrate a construction strategy in which hyperedges are obtained from canonical coherence (caCOH), an extension of coherence that estimates coupling between multidimensional signal spaces. To ...
