Проблемы исторической памяти во взаимоотношениях Японии со странами Азии: попытки примирения
In the article the author analyzes post-war development of international relations between Japan and Asia countries. In this work you can track correlation between sustainable development of economic and political relations on one hand and gradual decreasing of tension connected with historical past issues in the 2nd part of XX century on another hand. In this article you can find analysis of how relations between Japan and countries that had become victims of Japan’s politics in Southeast Asia were developing after war – Singapore and Indonesia. Special attention is given to the relations between Japan and Indonesia and also Holland which at the time when the war began held colonial territories there. Traumatic experience of certain historical events is not the only issue here. Development of the international relations after these events is also important factor here. The possibility of reconcilement or even overcoming such problems often depends on how positive and mutually beneficial these relations develop afterwards. With time, especially when generations change and emotions connected with these traumatic events go down, we can see preconditions for compromises and reconcilement. On the other hand, together with increasing of tension between countries, number of mutual claims is also increasing. If relations develop smoothly, especially if they are doing so for several generations’ period of time, any offence or claim might be left behind and memory of it might become the moment of reconciliation.
