The introductory article of this issue, which topic is “Education Outside the Classroom”, provides an overview of the key issues in the context of general trends in universal education coverage and at the same time the current trend of deinstitutionalization of educational practices. The issue discusses the practices of natural science and environmental education, the forms of organizing supplementary education for children and teenagers outside the classroom, the role and place of mentoring and mentors in the implementation of project-based forms of education based on research activities.
