Методика оценивания развернутых ответов студентов в письменной речи на материале немецкого языка (из опыта работы в немецком вузе)

The article analyzes the methodology for assessing written assignments that require an extended response; the approach is used at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where the author worked from 2016 to 2025 as a teacher of German as a foreign language and an expert. The methodology is applied as part of midterm and final assessments of speech and language competencies in German among international students in the „Written Communication“ category. The assessment approach not only ensures high objectivity and reliability, it is also cost-effective, allowing the instructor to assess student work without significant time and effort.

The author has given an example of assessing a written examination assignment, where the assessment object is the communicative skills and linguistic competence at the A2 level. The formulas and scoring table developed within the assessment methodology clearly demonstrate two methods for calculating the final grade for a written response. In the first method, linguistic errors are recorded in the right margin of the examination sheet and, after checking, are summed up. The formula below calculates the grade for „linguistic accuracy.“ The second method of assessing a written assignment uses a special scoring table for recording results and converting points, which allows the resulting score to be converted into a percentage and the accepted grading system of the country.

The proposed assessment methodology is valid, its practical significance is obvious, as it eliminates inaccuracies in assessment, ensures high objectivity and reliability.
