This edition publishes materials prepared for the scientific conference held at IRI RAS on September 11-15, 2023. The third scientific forum, focused on the study of the problems of translating foreign texts in Russia (up to the beginning of the 18th century), was held on the platform of the international conference "A Comprehensive Approach in the Study of Ancient Russia". The articles and abstracts of the reports raise questions of methodology of work on translations of various texts, the reflection of translators' personalities in different types of sources, and reconstruct biographies of specialists in interpretation and translation. The book is addressed to historians, students of historical specialties and all those interested in Russian history. The publication is dedicated to the memory of N. M. Rogozhin, an outstanding scholar, the largest specialist in the history of the Russian diplomatic service of the 16th-17th centuries. N. M. Rogozhin.
