This report presents the results of the monitoring of the opinions of foreign students about Russian higher education conducted by the State Autonomous Sociological Research Center in 2020. Obtained results helped to identify the reasons foreign students have for choosing certain Russian universities and programs, to assess the level of student satisfaction with the educational process, to determine the main channels for obtaining information about universities and ways to apply for admission, to formulate the key problems that foreign citizens face when arriving to study in Russia, to identify the respondents' expectations for further employment and to identify the economic effects of attracting foreigners to Russian universities. In addition, the publication demonstrates the dynamic of the changes by comparing the results of the 2020 study with the results of 2015, 2018, and 2019 studies in terms of exact parameters. The brochure contains a separate block on distance / partly distance (blended) learning introduced in most Russian universities to combat the spread of the COVID-19 in 2020. The results of the survey made it possible to find out the attitude of foreign students to this format of learning, to assess concerns about the quality of the education acquired in the study program, and to identify the likelihood of dropping out or refusing to apply to the university in the event the university switches to a distance-learning format. It also helped to identify expectations for adjusting the number of fees for this study format.
