‘Science Is Universal-It Knows No Borders
Fuad Aleskerov, Tenured Professor and Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis at HSE University, together with his colleagues, has developed methods of network analysis in bibliometrics that have made it possible to identify patterns in the appearance and citation of publications in academic journals, as well as their influence on each other. When one or a number of studies are frequently cited by a wide range of journals, this is an indicator that the research is of high quality. By contrast, extensive cross-citation within a limited group of journals increases the likelihood of identifying a network of predatory publications.

Pavlov I., Социологическое обозрение 2026 Т. 25 № 1 С. 287–326
The article examines the history of Nikolai Berdyaev’s relationship with Marxism. Although this topic has been studied well, existing research predominantly relies on Berdyaev’s own discourse. The problem is further complicated by the fact that Berdyaev changed his position on Marxism, and by the ambiguity of the concept of “Marxism” itself. The article demonstrates that ...

Inshakov I., В кн.: Векторы.

Article is devoted to the interpretation of Alexander Zinoviev's novel «Yawning Heights» in the Post-Foucauldian optics of governmentality studies. Smiju li marksisti biti povjesničari? Odgovor na kritiku Matka Globačnika
Gužvica S., Casopis za Suvremenu Povijest 2023 Vol. 55 No. 2 P. 319–331
My colleague Matko Globačnik's review of my book "Prije Tita" abounds in factually incorrect claims and tendentious twisting of the arguments that I presented in the book, but also raises certain historiographically important topics that are of wider significance for historians in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Because of the above, I considered it important, ...

Inshakov I., Политическая наука 2023 № 3 С. 213–229
It is well known that Karl Marx distinguished his theory from both pure «science» and from the «utopianism» inherent in his predecessors. Paradoxically, these two elements constitute the thinking of Marx himself, being with each other in a complex interaction, the specifics of which this article is intended to reveal. To this end, the author ...

The article considers two positions from which the contradictions of leo Tolstoy’s consciousness were described in Soviet philosophy of the 1950s and 1960s. On the one hand, Tolstoy is presented within a constant, albeit uneven, discussion between formalists and Marxists. On the other hand, special attention is paid to the opposition of the archaic and the modern, considered in the ...

Lenin as a development economist: A study in application of Marx’s theory in Russia
Melnik D. V., Russian Journal of Economics 2021 Vol. 7 No. 1 P. 34–49
The article provides an interpretation of Lenin’s earliest contributions (made in 1893–1899) to the study of economic development. In the 1890s, Lenin joined young Marxist intellectuals in their fight against the Narodnik economists, who represented the approach prevalent among the Russian radical intelligentsia in the 1870s–1880s. Lenin elaborated his theoretical interpretation of Marxism as applied ...

A positive review of Adolf Trendelenburg’s book The Elements of Aristotle's Logic translated into Russian by B. Fokht and A. Vashestov proposes four reasons why it is worth reading today. In contrast to what its title suggests, none of them is connected to learning logic. We would recommend it rather to experienced readers, than to ...
