Баллада Ф. Шиллера «Ивиковы журавли» в контексте философско-эстетических взглядов веймарских классиков
The article for the first time in the literary studies provides a comprehensive analysis of F. Schiller’s ballad «The cranes of Ibycus» (1797): ancient sources, the history of the origin of the text, the influence of Goethe, the role of readers in the concept of the work, the main ideas and images. The ballad, being a part of the ancient cycle, reflected the ideology and aesthetics of the Weimar classicism, the most important goal of which was to educate a new reading public and create a German character on its basis. It is no coincidence that Schiller turns to the mythological plot of Ancient Greece, which becomes for the Germans of the late XVIII – early XIX centuries a model not only of the state structure but also of the forma- tion of the national classical canon.
